ACTON, Mass. – April 22, 2008 – eIQnetworks®,
Inc., a global provider of integrated security, risk and audit
management solutions, today announced that Automated License
Systems (ALS), Inc., the preeminent provider of automated
hunting and fishing licensing solutions and automated firearm
background checks in the U.S., has selected its SecureVue
platform to identify malicious network threats and meet
government compliance mandates.
ALS processes more than 35 percent of all wildlife licenses in
the U.S. and over half of all automated firearm background
checks, in addition to background checks and fingerprint
verification for the Department of Homeland Security’s
Transportation Security Administration. The company – which
provides 24x7 support for 13,000 license agents nationwide –
manages over 80 servers across two data farms and processes
over 36 million transactions annually, representing over $250
million in revenue.
“The integrity of our data is critical. When working with
government customers, we need to be able to prove that the
sensitive data we process and store is safe from attacks, and
eIQ’s SecureVue platform enables us to do that,” said Rich
Edwards, director of Technical Operations for ALS. “The
platform’s ability to reduce server load and eliminate storage
overflow also enhances our overall network performance.”
ALS is using SecureVue to collect, correlate and analyze log,
vulnerability, configuration, asset, performance and network
behavioral anomaly data across its geographically-distributed
network. By combining these elements into a single repository,
ALS is able to cost-effectively use forensics, correlated
alerting and reporting to identify threat patterns, detect
configuration changes, support compliance mandates and
proactively monitor network health across all devices, servers
and applications.
“One of the main reasons we selected eIQ’s SecureVue is its
ability to consolidate and correlate data across the
enterprise,” said Edwards. “This enables us to better serve
customers like the Department of Homeland Security with
unified security management, including the ability to quickly
run comprehensive forensics queries from a single console.”
“Advanced forensic analysis and reporting is critical to ALS’
overall security and compliance strategy,” said John Sullivan,
senior vice president of field operations at eIQnetworks. “By
automating the collection data from multiple disparate
sources, SecureVue enables ALS to more quickly identify
potential threats and streamline compliance support.”
